MARCO FERRARESE
Marco is from Italy but has been living in East Asia since 2007. He is and has been many things: punk rock musician with the band The Nerds Rock Inferno, roadie for several American punk and metal bands,  language teacher in China, restless traveler, travel writer, record label web manager and academic researcher. He just completed a MA Degree in English Linguistics at USM in Penang, Malaysia where he has been based for the last 2 years living with his fiancee Kit Yeng. It seems like he cannot stay still for too long: patronized by NGO Travel for Aid, he decided to create and embark on this Journey to the West trying to blend together his love for rock music and travel by bringing it to the people of Asia…

CHAN KIT YENG  曾洁莹
A native of Penang, Malaysia, Kit Yeng has a passion for travel, photography, and getting lost in far flung, hidden places.  She likes animals, the rainforest, reading the newspaper and watching international movies, with a particular penchant for extremes: it has to be horror, or cartoons. She works as a Mandarin and Cantonese speaking  tour guide when she is not lured into some extreme shoestring travel by her fiancee Marco Ferrarese (and this happens fairly often, recently). To the contrary of most other Malaysians, her interests are not for sale on the shelves of shiny shopping malls, expensive hotels’ bedsheets or 5 star restaurants’ menus. Instead, she feels quite awkward when wearing a skirt, and prefers much better her hiking shoes which already walked her across some incredible places such as the hills of Myanmar‘s Shan state, the wilds of western China, the dusty roads of southern India and some hidden mountains in central Sri Lanka. She may be tiny but she speaks six languages, and is the cutest portable dictionary ever invented in the Far East.
