To Americans, the whole concept of travel seems mostly bound to the foreign, the tropical and the mysterious. The rainforests of Costa Rica, the beaches of Southeast Asia or the African deserts have become the perfect representation of the new American escapist dream. Realistically, if someone can flee small-town Midwest, why should he bother visiting the rest of the States, when cheap air travel has made far flung destinations so easily accessible? If you cannot find any good reason, please think again, because the answer is simple. The USA thrives on rock music subcultures.
I have just published an article on BOOTSNALL describing some of my favorite destinations for a North American Rock and Roll Road trip… you better go and check it out HERE.
