MM- Tell me the worst travel experience you witnessed where white people were involved.
Tripluca- In KL, I was with Fulvio, another young guy and the scary monkey living in my closet. Joking. Nothing horrible, I just hate those white losers who go to Thailand and can’t see the difference between bar girls and non-bar girls, treating all of them in the same way. It should not be so hard.
MM- Do you think your life benefited from travelling? How?
I think I wrote 15 books on this, do you really want me to start this over again? Anyway, one thing: travelling I stopped believing that some things are right or wrong by
definition and it really freed me from endless invisible chains. There was a time when I was convinced I could really do anything and be anyone. It was probably true, then I chose to be what I am now, which maybe wasn’t the best choice (it never is), but at least it was a choice, which in a world of no-choosers…it’s a luxury.
MM- Which are the worst touristically ruined countries, and why?
Tripluca- Don’t you think Venice is ruined by tourists? And don’t you think you just can’t miss it? I don’t give a damn about tourists, if a place it’s worth a visit it does not depend on
how many Samsonites roll.
MM- Can you describe in a few words what happened in South East Asia in the past 10 years?
Tripluca- They developed economically and technically but forgot to fight for their rights, so now they have great mobile phones and no retirements plans.
MM- Any suggestions for the people with some brains left for starting a wise, profitable, human-friendly travel experience
Tripluca- After years giving suggestions I realized that it’s inside you or it is not. Idiots will be travelling idiots, no matter what I write.
MM- What is the best and the worst country you visited, and why?
Tripluca- I would have never expected this question from you. I hate this question. It’s like a country could be defined in an objective way. I mean, even Italy means different things for you and for me. A country is just too big. The answer depends on me, mostly: how I felt at the time, what I saw, what I expected, what I was looking for… So, whatever I answer will be the wrong one for you.
MM- You strongly support the thesis that the Internet will free this world. I don’ agree completely. Don’t you think it might just be a massive control media, like a reversed Big Brother that WE create now?
Tripluca- I do not say internet will free the world. It freed me and made some other people slaves. It’s a tool, like a hammer, it’s up to you to decide whether to build a nice table or smash your balls with it. Most people will simply be more controlled and controllable with it, of course. Tv is great to influence the masses, internet is even better: it can check them real time.
MM- Which are the new places to be discovered and explored, according to you?
Tripluca- Old places with a new perspective. If I had the money I would love to see Europe now.
MM- Tell me something useful how I might improve my life experiences, being still relatively young and already as scorned as a 70 years old grumpy man, and then, this lousy interview is over.
Tripluca- I should know why you are angry and deceived, first. I would suggest you to care less for people who live a life you do not agree with. Just go your own way and enjoy the silence.
MM- I don’t know… sometimes I feel like I’m very happy, but then I realize I get impatient about nothing. It’s a mental sickness maybe… remember I also slipped out of my mommy’s vagina a few weeks before expected. I’m probably just an adrenaline freak, but thanks for the suggestion. Remember that silence doesn’t exist. Real silence is noise for our human hears, because it’s too immense to be comprehended. Thanks for your time!!
