Credo sia quasi impossibile da occidentale immaginare quello che sta succedendo in Cina in questo momento, pochi mesi prima dell’inizio dei Giochi Olimpici 2008. E’ sempre difficile immaginare come certe immagini arrivino dentro ai nostri televisori e ci facciano emozionare, e in questo caso, lo e’ ancora di piu’. Da straniero in Cina, vivendo in una piccola realta’ come Qinhuangdao, che comunque sara’ una delle sei citta’ olimpiche e ospitera’ le gare di calcio, tra cui anche le partite dell’Italia, le sensazioni sono miste e difficili da mettere su carta.

Sometimes a video is better than a thousand words, and this might be the case. I took this with a photocamera while I was wandering around Zhongdian’s streets. This city is the southeasternmost corner of Tibet and is most commonly know between the Chinese as “Shangri La”. I turned around a corner in the cobbled paved old city, and this is what I found. Sorry for the low quality resolution, but sometimes it’s better to capture the glimpse of a moment, rather than have it just stuck into my head. FREE TIBET!!
